I think I may be addicted. Every time Willie Wonka comes on TV, I find myself drawn into this maze of endless possibilities and opportunity. I could be doing just about anything else, but if that show comes on, I feel compelled to watch.
It seems everyday that I am reminded about the magic of thinking big. I love both of the Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movies. They let us know that there is power in Big Thinking! So often our circumstances are a matter of not thinking about what could be, and just accepting what is.
Regardless of where you are, it is always possible to re-define your business, your life, and your possibilities. As we grow up we stop using our imagination. When we are kids, anything is possible. We play all sorts of games imaging ourselves as pro athletes, fireman, police officers, etc. The possibilities are limitless. However, as we get older we don’t always want to take as many risk. Fear of loss begins to set in and hold us back from possibilities.
As with anything, it begins with a decision. You need to make a decision to start Thinking BIG!
Here are some quick tips to help you start thinking BIG!
- Schedule time to think!
- Get inspiration from a book, a speech, a CD, or music!
- Ask yourself what it would look like if you did what you thought you could not!
- Grab a pen and paper and write your visions down!
Here are a few questions for you to start thinking about…
- How often do you schedule thinking and creative time in your life?
- What is possible for you, if you change your thinking?
- What could be accomplished if you had a different perspective?
