Do you know what your purpose is for your business? It is a critical question, to ask because without purpose, you will not have focus, and focus is critical to your success. When you lack purpose, you will get up each day and let the day happen to you, rather than you happening to the day.
We have all had days that seemed like we worked really hard and accomplished nothing. Those are the days we worked outside of the purpose of our business. If you want your business to be effective, successful, and sustained, then you need to develop a purpose statement.
Here are some things that I have learned about focus…
- Purpose keeps you focused.
- Purpose helps you identify your goals.
- Purpose helps you establish your plan.
- Purpose helps you take the RIGHT actions.
Developing you purpose statement takes answering some tough questions, writing those answers down on paper, AND keeping them readily available for you to see each day. Ask yourself these questions:
- What is my business going to accomplish?
- Who does my business serve?
- What is my customers biggest problem?
- How will we solve the problem?
Give these questions some thought until you have a clearly defined purpose for you business.
